YARN:

Knit Picks Comfy Worsted 75% pima cotton, 25% acrylic (or equivalent)
Comfy worsted is a lighter worsted weight yarn.

Lion

• 1 ball Crème Brûlée (Yellow) (approximately 75 yards/34 grams)
• 1 ball Carrot (Orange) (approximately 31 yards/14 grams)
• 1 ball White (small amount)
• 1 ball Black (small amount)

Hippo

• 1 ball Blackberry (approximately 80 yards/36 grams)
• 1 ball Vinca (approximately 30 yards/13 grams)
• 1 ball White (small amount)
• 1 ball Black (small amount)

HOOK:

G (4.00 mm) hook or size need to obtain gauge.

OTHER:

• Velcro (hook and loop closure)
• 2 pieces of white wool felt for Hippo teeth, approximately ½” X ¼” each (optional-crocheted teeth instructions provided)
• 1 standard (US) 12oz can of soda or something with either a 4” or 8” circumference for Lion’s mane

NOTIONS:

stitch markers, yarn needle, needle and matching thread

NOTES:

Pattern is written using standard US stitches. Easy + /Intermediate pattern.  Works in the round.  Photo tutorial for magic circle/adjustable ring included.

GAUGE:

Gauge checkpoints are given in the pattern. Exact gauge is not essential in this project. When checking gauge, measure from the last stitch made all the way across.
