About Me

DarleenHopkinsHi, I’m Darleen and I’m addicted to designing crochet patterns.  I design a variety of items, but my favorites are items with a little bit of silliness to them.

It all started in 2005.  I began crocheting to keep my hands busy.  Almost right away I started tweaking every pattern I attempted.  I very quickly started making my own designs and eventually writing the patterns down.  My very first attempt at publication was a success with the “I do” pattern in Crochet Today magazine.  I was bitten by the design bug and have been designing ever since.  You can find my designs in a variety of publications as well my self published patterns on Etsy, Craftsy, Ravelry, Patternfish, KnitPicks, and ePatterns.

All my self published patterns have been tested for ease of understanding and tech edited to eliminate errors.  If you find an error or typo, please let me know so I can correct it.  When errors are found, they are corrected and then addressed on the Errata page.

Please, take a moment and check out my blog, instantly downloadable patterns, crochet tips & tricks and crocheted funnies.  Subscribe/follow at right for updates on the blog.

  1. Hi: I bought your santa bib pattern and it’s going great! Just wondering about what age child this is meant for as it looks a bit big for a small baby. Thanks!

    • HI Donna, thank you for your purchase! Others have made that bib for about 3 months and up. It just fits each a little differently. A smaller baby will have more coverage from the bib than a larger baby. You can always make the strap a little shorter or add additional velcro to make the strap fit a little tighter. I think it will be a touch big for an average sized baby younger than 3 months. You could try using a smaller hook or light worsted if you want to make the bib for a newborn. I hope that helps. -Darleen
