Black Raspberry Shawl, Beautiful Lace Edge

Wear it as a traditional shawl, a scarf, or a cowl.  Either way is beautiful.  The pattern is written for DK weight yarn but feel free to use whatever yarn you like.  Worsted weight yarn will yield a slightly larger wrap while sock yarn or lace weight will produce a beautiful shawlette.  One size fits most. Before blocking, approximately 60” wingspan, 16” at widest point.

YARN/HOOKS:

• Bernat Cotton-ish or equivalent (light weight-3), 55% cotton 45% acrylic [2.4oz/70g, 282yd/258m] per skein, almost 3 skeins, estimated total yarn [6.5 oz/180g 764yd/660m]
• G (4.00 mm) hook or size needed to obtain correct gauge
• Stitch marker, yarn needle

NOTES:

Pattern is written using standard US stitches. Easy +/Intermediate, knowledge of puff stitches is necessary. (instructions provided)  Also uses foundation single crochet (instructions provided) or you can substitute a beginning chain and a row of single crochet.

GAUGE:

Exact gauge is not essential. If your gauge is close to stated gauge, then your finished shawl will be close to stated finished size.
